Our Genesis
APITCO was evolved from the necessity of low cost consulting for setting up industrial enterprises, at times when the availability of consultancy to guide first generation entrepreneurs was limited to a few global players.
The Government of India, through a World Bank Study recognized the requirement of technical & financial professional organizations to facilitate and handhold potential promoters in formulating and setting up-industries. This arising need led to the establishment of Technical Consultancy Organizations (TCOs) in various states in India. The TCOs were set up as Joint Ventures of All- India Development Financial Institutions, Government Banks, State Industrial Development Corporations and State Finance Corporations, under The Companies Act, 1956.
Since its inception in 1976, the organization is catering to the needs of prospective entrepreneurs in terms of preparation of techno-economic studies, project reports, appraisals reports, diagnostic studies & market surveys for a range of industries and products.
Further, since the 1980’s, to build the capacities amongst the unemployed, the organization started extending its services in entrepreneurship development, developing micro enterprises, providing skill training for both wage-employment and self- employment to various target groups.
With the changing business landscape, the organization transcended to eighteen different domains, and started offering skill based specialized services. The organization extended its geographies across the country, and executed assignments in Far–east, Middle-east, and African countries.
